(Getting "in tune" with Mother Earth)
『Listening to this CD is a comprehensive living experience. If you are quiet with it, and give it your attention, it will remind you of who you are and where you came from. The sounds and rhythmic patterning seem to come from within your own being and at the same from within the earth itself, the sea itself, the vibratory life of the planet. It effects you on the deepest level. The creator of this music is obviously a gifted musician and has a deep relationship with the world we live in, below and beyond the frenzy of day to day. She has gifted us with a clear reminder of what "makes us tick" in our innermost heartscapes.』

(wonderful music for meditation and relaxation)
『I love this CD and my clients do too! It's great music for bodywork, meditation and relaxation. Highly recommended.』

(The best in meditation and relaxation music!)
『This CD was a gift to me on my graduation from massage school, from a friend who is an acupuncturist. I regularly use it in my practice (as does my friend), and have found absolutely no other music that produces the profound relaxation effect that this does.

There is a deep, subtle drone throughout the CD, which I understand to be the vibratory sound of the planet Earth. Each track includes a different theme of Life on this planet. Together, the effect is hypnotic, haunting, uplifting, relaxing, spiritual, expanding, and meditative. It is also simply beautiful music.

Clients who have heard this for the first time during a massage will often dreamily comment afterward, "Wow! What WAS that?!" I often find myself "zoning in" to the music, and have given my best massages while this CD was playing.

I also listened to this recently while having dental work done, and by the time I left, the dentist wanted copies for the office, and for use during airline flights.

There's really no way to describe it adequately, and it's a shame there are no sound clips here to give an idea of what it sounds like. My only disappointment is that it is less than an hour long; I find myself wanting more.

Not recommended for use while driving. Strongly recomended for use in meditation, or for relaxation!』

『Music in the Key of Ohm (Om) Deeply relaxing, this music is ideal for insomnia, pain management and stress reduction. Ohm is universally recognized as a sacred sound healing frequency. THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE OHM is a transporting musical experience designed to carry you on a sound journey. The music allows you to resonate with the healing tone of the earth. Your body is able to assimilate Ohm, and all its beautiful overtones, and utilize these healing properties on a vibratory level. Omnipresent in nature, Ohm is alive in the wind and in the voice of the plant and animal world. -Marjorie De Muynck, composing Pioneer Works in Ohm Since 2000.』

(Waste of time)
『This DVD is hopeless, and too easy even at 40 weeks. You dont even get a basic stretch out of it. The instructor is so fake, it drives you mad. Definitely try another DVD.』

(Relieves Pressure...I love this CD)
『I started using this CD when I was about 5 months pregnant. The weight of the baby was starting to put a lot of pressure on the lower half of my body. I noticed that when I was consistent with the yoga, my back hurt less and the pressure was eased on my bottom...it even relieved the hemorrhoids! When I wasn't consistent, the back problems and the rhoids returned.

I will say this, when I first tried this video, I thought it was kind of lame and that the moves really didn't do much for me...I was SO wrong.

Although I love the CD, I did not rate it with 5 stars because it is a little slow and there's too much hippy talk. But I totally recommend this CD.』

(Wonderful way to keep relaxed)
『I just bought this DVD and loved it. If you are still maintaining a hard-core workout mentality, this is not the DVD for you. However, if you are accepting of your changing body and priorities, then this is perfect! The DVD shows you how to properly breath, relieves stress and aches/pains associated with an expanding body. Its focus on overall wellness during pregnancy, including listening to your body on a day-by-day basis. I use this DVD and also walk a couple of times a week and this combo has helped me stay healthy, properly gain weight and stay tuned to the miracle that is pregnancy.』

(yoga mama)
『This is a very good video. The instructor gives good direction, including modifications and, very important, advises participants not to push yourself or do anything uncomfortable for you. It is a complete program, but a "do-able" length (45 min).』

(Love this DVD!)
『At first I thought this DVD would be cheesy but I really like it. The exercises are fairly easy to do and it really helps once you get into your 6-7th month.』
『Crunch, a New York-based gym, keeps bringing innovative and hip exercise videos to VCRs across the country. You don't have to be in a metropolitan area to experience cutting-edge fitness trends and formats becauseCrunch: Yoga Mamadelivers an effective (and chic) pre-natal workout that can be done in the comfort of your living room. Instructor (and pregnant woman) Sue Elkind leads this 40-minute workout with concise descriptions and a healthy knowledge of yoga as it relates to pregnancy. The content here provides a workout that is both safe and efficient, with great attention to participants' individual fitness levels. This session is presented with a backdrop class (consisting of women in various stages of their pregnancies) that demonstrates modified and more challenging options to each pose. Pregnant participants may find it more appropriate (and less annoying) to take direction from another pregnant woman rather than an ultra flexible, ultra thin (non-pregnant) instructor. Basic postures within yoga are taught with intensive focus on breathing, flexibility, and the constant connection between mind/body (and mother/child). Some poses are altered to accommodate the roundness of the midsection with constant awareness of spine alignment. Elkind gives special attention to balance as she slowly increases the intensity of postures. After a series of basic poses are performed, Kegels are practiced (which strengthen the pelvic floor), and meditation closes out the workout. This basic format is friendly for beginners, pre- and post-natal women, or anyone who requires modifications. This safety-conscious video offers a simple, straightforward workout with real potential for increased strength and flexibility. Props needed: a blanket or pillow, a mat, and (especially if you are expecting) a chair.--Olivia Voigts

(Too easy)
『This DVD is too easy for me, even if i'm a beginner.
I'm fairly young - 30 - but i need something more challenging.
It's also pretty short, The 2 sessions must last about 40minutes total.
I would have expected at least 1h of yoga.』

(Not a full workout)
『Don't buy this DVD if you are looking for a full workout. This doesn't make you sweat or even get into any real yoga techniques. The DVD consists of two 10-minute segments, which touch very briefly on some basic stretching principles. None of the poses are even held long enough for you to get any real benefit from them, if this is your sole source for guidance. I use this DVD after doing other workout routines to complete my cooldown and stretching. I find most exercise videos do not provide adequate stretching at the end of the workout. So I throw this in and get a little extra stretching for my muscles. It helps to chill me out and cool me down after tough cardio or aerobics. That is all this DVD is good for. I don't even see how it could improve your overall flexibility in the long run, given its short duration. But hey, doing something is better than doing nothing. And maybe these 10-minute bites will entice you into investing in a more in-depth DVD.』

(Really great for beginners!)
『I know nothing about yoga and just finished this workout for the first time. The first session is great with simple instructions and nothing too difficult. It went by so quick that I finished both sessions thinking it was still the first one split into two smaller sessions. I am excited to continue improving with this DVD so that I can move on to slightly more advanced ones.』

(Easy to do, but not as challenging as I thought)
『I must be flexible, because I found the exercises very easy to do. The format is easy to follow, and they explain the stretches very well. I've never done yoga before, and wanted to increase my flexablility but found these too easy. Next time I'll try the next step up. All in all, this was a great dvd.』

(Quick, simple stretches)
『Like many others, I liked the first 20 minute segment better than the second. Though the second is very good, I wish it were a smoother transition from the first....perhaps more complicated stretches; stretching and oppositional points poses seems like a funny combination. However, if you take each for what it is, they are both really nice. I do the first 20 minute segment very often. I have found that it is easy enough that my kids will often join in and it becomes a fun family activity.』

(Excellent Service)
『This DVD was purchased as a gift for my son and I was mailing it off to him for Christmas. Delivery was prompt and I received DVD in excellent condition. Would not hesitate to purchase products again.』

(A good place to start)
『I enjoy this DVD and use it fairly frequently. However, the practices are very separate -- they don't flow easily together, so you can't really just do the whole video, one set after the other. Most people, I think, will find one or two practices useful, and ignore the rest.

The first section, "Mountain" is a gentle flow series of yoga postures. These are slow, easy, and should be within the range of most beginners. You are left in a cross-legged sitting posture, so that if you keep your remote close by, you can just shut off the video and go straight into meditation. This makes a nice morning practice.

The second section "Garden" is an unusual set of postures done in a chair. These help make the hips more flexible, so you can sit for longer periods of time in meditation. Rodney Yee also mentions that you can meditate while sitting in a chair. This series would be a perfect intro for those that choose this option. Also, once you learn these postures, it would be easy to do them at work, for a quick yoga break.

The third section, "Tree" is purely instructional, teaching four sitting postures that you can use in meditation. It's not meant as a daily yoga routine.

The fourth section, "Wind" is a breathing meditation -- such an important, and often neglected part of yoga. I use this section fairly often.

The final section "Sky" is a guided meditation. It starts in a standing position, which is a bit inconvenient if you'd like to do the last two practices together. ("Wind" leaves you lying on your back.) You do sit down to meditate, though. I use it on days when I need the instruction to get myself settled. As you progress, of course, you're going to want silence for meditation.

As others have noted, the scenery is pretty -- but I tend not to judge yoga tapes by that. After all, you are listening more than you are watching, when you do the practice. I like the music on this one better than others I've heard -- something a bit more important than what the video looks like, I'd think.

This is a useful video; it would have been even more so if "Mountain", "Wind" and "Sky" could blend together more easily to make a complete practice.』

(Helped reduce symptoms of stress)
『I'm a student, and have been really stressed out lately. I started to get an ulcer (I've had one before), experienced restless sleep, and was generally feeling frazzled. I'm a spiritual person, but was feeling spiritually deficit with not enough time in the day. I was desperate and I bought this DVD.
I only used it a few times, but the result was remarkable and immediate. I'm a hardcore skeptic about all this free-your-mind, natural-healing stuff, but I couldn't be after this. The effects would last me through the day. My posture was corrected. I didn't experience any heartburn. I felt oddly "centered" (now I get what that word means!), and things just sort of fell into perspective. I felt nurtured.
I highly recommend it if you're dealing with stress.』

(Meditation with lots of talking)
『I was looking for a product that would be a good introduction to yoga, and stress-relief/meditation are always a bonus. This is a good guide to meditation, except that he keeps talking. It would probably work well if you use the techniques to your own music or with the mute button. This product did not do a lot for me, physically. I am fairly active and was looking for a way to do some stretching and refreshing yoga. This is not the right DVD. Good if you want to meditate, but don't buy it if you are looking for physical rather than mental refreshment.』

(Perfect start to building a meditation yoga practice)
『In this video, master yoga instructor Rodney Yee guides the viewer through gentle yoga poses designed to allow you to focus your attention inward. The practice is divided into 5 segments:

1) Mountain. Rodney describes this as a "quiet flow series," and it contains about 12 minutes of simple stretches to warm up the body.
2) Garden. This 13-minute section focuses mainly on hip opening postures such as twists and forward bends performed while sitting on a chair.
3) Tree. In this section, Rodney spends 10 minutes reviewing 4 basic seating postures used for meditation: cobbler, hero, sage, and lotus. Each pose is practiced with and without a block for variation.
4) Wind. The purpose of this section is to concentrate on breath while in reclining postures; 10 minutes.
5) Sky. In this final 8-minute section, Rodney leads you through a seated meditation. His soothing voiceover instruction reminds you to turn your attention inward and to focus on your breathing.

Although I tend to concentrate on postures rather than meditation in my own yoga practice, I found this video to be enjoyable and restorative. I particularly liked the third section, as Rodney's breathing instruction helped me to really feel a tingling sense of deeper relaxation in my body. Rodney is an excellent instructor; his beautiful form while practicing is a perfect compliment to the gorgeous background scenery. This video would work well for anyone looking to add the benefits of meditation to their yoga practice without having to simply sit quietly in a lotus position.』
『"Meditation is a time-honored practice that reduces stress and revitalizes the body, mind, and spirit," explains Rodney Yee, instructor forYoga Journal's Yoga Practice for Meditation. "Meditation is awareness of posture, ease of breath, and attentiveness of the mind." In this beautiful video, Yee quietly and expertly leads you through five yoga practices that release bodily tension, improve posture, and open up breathing. The setting is grand and gorgeous Yosemite National Park, where Yee demonstrates poses in a meadow flanked by trees and cliffs, or at the edge of a lake or waterfall. The rewards of meditation are "living more calmly, more fully, with strength and grace," promises Yee. The practice is divided into five segments:Mountain, a series that moves from pose to pose, used for making the transition from daily activities to a sitting meditation (12 minutes);Garden, gentle movements done in a chair that open the hips and stretch the back (10 minutes);Tree, four sitting poses, using props to modify the poses to your personal flexibility level (10 minutes);Wind, with the focus on the movement of breath, releasing tension, and relaxing deeply (10 minutes);Sky, a meditation focusing on posture and breath, and "inviting the mind into the present moment, time and time again" (8 minutes).--Joan Price

(Yoga Video)
『It's a good beginner DVD but a little confusing in one exercise when you see the instructor mix up his right and left with the naration.』

(Who needs a chiropractor, when you have this video?)
『I starting running a few years ago, which resulted in lower-back muscle tightness. After several visits to the chiropractor, I realized I was just doing guided stretching--so I bought this video. Two days of this video always fixes my back when it starts to ache. My regular yoga is too strenous when my back is tight. This video uses a chair to modify many of the regular yoga poses. I highly recommend it. It's only 20 minutes, so it's easy to fit in.』

(Great for yoga-phobics with bad backs)
『I bought this for my partner who hates yoga and has a bad back and who has practiced to this DVD on a regular basis and says it really helps the back pain. HOWEVER, if you are at all flexible, this is not the DVD for you. This is strictly for beginning yogis who need some great stretches for back strengthening/flexibility.』

(Backcare for beginners really helps)
『I have used this program and have had friends try it. They all say it has helped them with their back issues.』

(Back Care Yoga A Waste of Money)
『I was really disappointed by this DVD. My acupuncturist had recommended that I try a Rodney Yee video, but I don't think he knows that this is mostly fluff--there's lots of advertising and talking, but only 20 minutes of actual yoga. So as a yoga session, it's just too short to be of much use except for absolute beginners--but it's clearly not aimed at them, as Rodney uses poses that true beginners would not already know, and does not instruct in how to do them.

More important, the yoga exercises are too short. The program is 90% stretching, but the stretches are not held long enough to be effective. The poses are also too brief. And there are not enough of them--real back work involves strengthening back and abdominal core, but there are only a few poses in this program that do that.

Based on this DVD, I will not buy anything from this source: it feels like a moneymaker scam to me.』

(Let go and have fun!)
『I wasn't sure how I would do with this DVD after reading some of the mixed reviews. I didn't know if I had it in me to "let go" and move without detailed steps. But, I'm really glad that I tried this DVD anyway. I love the DVD and the scenery, and sometimes letting go is exactly what I need. Plus, I love the matrix option, and I can workout for as long or as short as I want, or I can do a high intensive or low intensive routine.
I can only do this DVD when I'm alone, though. I'd feel pretty self-conscious with anyone watching me...they might think that I was having an episode (:』

(Moving to the Beat of your Breath!!)
『Ok, so I admit... I always secretly wanted to be a dancer, and this dvd will make ANYONE feel like a dancer! I've always loved Shiva Rea and this dvd is just an added addition to some of her more "instructional" classes. Eric Shiffman is doing something similar to this now too... I was lucky enough to practice Trance Dance live with Shiva Rea about 5 years ago and this DVD brings me right back to that wonderful experience I had! Sometimes it's ok to LET GO in a yoga class. Often times there's so much rigidity in classes that we can tend to forget that it's not always about the perfect movement... it's about truly feeling alive! TAMARA'S YOGA FUSION』

(Amazing Practice!!!)
『Shiva is an amazing instructor... This DVD is one of her best... I do have to say that I have to be in the mood to do it as there is a lot of free style dancing... but after I'm done, I feel so connected and in peace!!! This is another winner from Shiva!!』

(Extremely disappointed)
『If you expect fluid movements done as a dance that give a good work out don't buy this DVD. If you are looking for an esoteric experience then this is for you.』

(challenging but fun)
『If you are middle aged, overweight and out of shape like I am, you'll find some of the yoga poses difficult. Shiva moves through them fairly quickly so they can be hard to follow. The faster movement segments that are part yoga and part dance are much easier for me because they are a small part pose and a large part freeform. And they are aerobic without being hard on the knees. So I enjoy this video but alternate it with other videos of slower, more traditional yoga sequences. (I like Big Yoga and Yoga for the Rest of Us.)
The music is great, with some traditional Indian music for the slower parts. The Indian music was at times a little too loud making it hard to hear her voice. The rest is rhythmic, infectious and perfect for the dance parts. The segments are each about 30 minutes and it's easy to get a good workout in that space of time.』

『Released some two years after 2004'sYoga Shakti, one of the finest yoga programs on the market, Shiva Rea'sYoga Trance Danceis substantially different in content but every bit the former's equal in terms of style and presentation. Combining what she calls "two of the oldest ways (to get) back home," Rea has mixed dance and yoga to create "a contemporary exploration of conscious movement meditation," with an eye toward healing the split between body and mind that has, she says, led many of us to live primarily "from the neck up." As was the case withYoga Shakti, several pre-set practices are offered (six in this case, ranging from 29 to 41 minutes in length); and the DVD again features the innovative "Yoga Matrix," which allows users to customize their practice by choosing and organizing various segments to suit their own needs and moods. Yet because of the dance element, most comparisons to a traditional yoga program don't apply. Whereasvinyasayoga is essentially a series of flowing, connected poses, incorporating breath and movement and cultivating heat, strength, flexibility, and balance, here the movement is within the poses themselves, not just within the overall sequence. Thus familiarasanassuch as the cobra and downward facing dog take on a new aspect, with users encouraged to constantly roll their shoulders from side to side in cobra or make undulating, wave-like spinal movements in down dog (both can be found in the terrificjala namaskar, the so-called "water salutation"); it's a style that may be somewhat more familiar to practitioners ofkundaliniyoga than those used to the more widespread, Iyengar-basedhathatradition. Meanwhile, the trance dance sections encourage spontaneous, free-form movement that may well lead to the kind of creative self-expression and loosening of inhibitions that Rea prescribes. Visually stunning (it was shot in high definition at New Mexico's White Sands National Monument) and augmented by a fine world music soundtrack (a music-only option is available) and Rea's soothing, authoritative presence, the DVD also includes a mini-documentary about the instructor, bonus comments by a couple of experts, and more.--Sam Graham

(Workshop-style practice offers some nice moves for correcting posture/improving back issues)
『In this DVD, Anusara-trained yoga instructor Desirée Rumbaugh offers a yoga practice designed to ease pressure and tightness in the back, improve posture, and increase strength and flexibility to the core of the body. The Main Menu of the DVD is as follows: Introduction (brief overview by Desirée) - Play Workout - Chapter Index - Biography - Music Options (Music Only or Music + Instruction) - Also from Acacia (trailers of other workouts). For some of the postures, a block or blanket is used.

Desirée mostly leads the workout using voiceover instruction, although she breaks in live at times to provide more specific tips. The first six chapters (about 8 minutes) focus mainly on the fundamentals of good standing posture. She then moves through a series of basic standing postures to warm up the back, including chair pose, cat/cow, downward dog, spinx/cobra, and locust. The lower back in particular is targeted through several lunge variations as well as a seated twist. Because weak abdominal muscles can contribute to lower back problems, Desirée also works on strengthening the abdominal core through exercises performed in a reclined position such as crunches, leg lifts, and pendulum; this section was fairly challenging, especially the pendulum move, which Desirée moved through at quite a fast pace. Next, Desirée returns to some additional backbending postures, upping the intensity level with bow, camel, and bridge. Following this, the practice begins to wind down through a series of stretches, including lying hamstring stretch, outer hip stretch, and windshield wipers. Desirée offers some final postural tips in the reclined position, as she provides instruction on preserving the lumbar curve as well as presents the use of lying over a blanket to restore proper alignment. The practice concludes with a savasana (relaxation) that is just under four minutes long, bringing in the total time at approximately 65.5. minutes.

Although video this is presented as a complete yoga practice, the mixture of independent short chapters (most are around 2 minutes in length), interruptions for live instruction, occasional lack of parity between voiceover and onscreen demonstrations, and brief "Tip" segments which show the right versus wrong way to perform some of the postures all contributed to an overall choppy feel. The information presented here is certainly valuable, but the stop-and-go nature made it feel more like a physical therapy session or yoga workshop than an actual yoga practice. This DVD would probably work best for those wanting specific tips and strategies to address back pain rather than a flowing yoga practice experience; overall, I'd rate it 3 1/2 stars.』

(Not For Me)
『ToeSox Yoga / Pilates Toe Socks, Organic Cotton I have practiced yoga for several decades. I purchased these toe socks based upon reviews and price. Goodness, I spent way too much time just trying to sort out my toes - kept getting either two toes in one sleeve or finding my little toe sleeveless. Finally deceided to continue barefoot or in a leotard. Inexpense enough to just throw away:-)』

(Great enhancement to the Pilates workout)
『I have 2 pair of Toesox and love them. They grip firmly to give me better pilates workout. Helps me keep my balance better and keeps me from sliding. I highly recommend these for anyone doing pilates.』

(Love these!)

『This striking wall chart is a beautiful rendering of the traditional view of the chakras as lotus blossoms with varying numbers of petals. All seven major chakras are represented, with the sanskrit letter of each at the center, surrounded by the artist's representation of the yantra (geometric shape) associated with the chakra. The lines connecting the chakras represent the 3 major nadis (psychic channels). The left and right are the ida and pingala respectively and the central is the shushumna. It is the shushumna that carries the kundalini energy up through all the energy centers to the sahasrara chakra in kundalini awakening. 12"x60" this tall panel is a constant reminder of the beautiful energy within us all.』

(not crazy about this one)
『im sure its just my preference, the music is well played, its just not beneficial to me and i have stopped using this cd.』

(The right CD for your Yoga routine)
『The first time I listened to this CD I new it was going to be in my top list of CDs to play during my Yoga sessions. I love it.』

(Sweat dreams)
『My wife and I have had this album for 2 years. We play it on our bedroom sound system as we go to sleep each night. Pure bliss, into that peaceful space then oblivion.
This is my best cd purchase of the last decade.』

(Spirit of Yoga)
『I really enjoy this yoga music! It is long and continuous which allows me to practice without losing concentration.』

(Great for settling down)
『After my workout I like to mellow out w/ some yoga stretches and this CD has been great. The music just drifts me off to another place and calms me down.』
『Music to ease stress away and promote peace of mind. Ideal for yoga, meditation, healing, whenever the attention is directed inward toward that dynamic place of stillness. Featuring Grammy nominated Jai Uttal chanting and on dotar and Manose Singh on bamboo flute.』
