『Tabi socks are split toe socks made to be worn with traditional japanese sandals or wooden clogs. Traditionally either white or black, these have been updated with contemporary colors and patterns and are great with flip flops or around the house.』
IPhone 3G used's review (The real thing) 『Wow! I'll never bother with a yoga instructor after this gem. Richard's words perfectly instruct your progress - as if he were there in the room - to assure that you learn the primary series correctly. He must be a very experienced teacher as his analogies and what he says keep you focused on the breathing and exploring all parts of the posture(s) together. I really learned a lot from what he said, discovering more and more each time (which is good because you don't look at the screen much while you're doing it!).
One especially high-quality feature of this DVD is the variety of starting points. You can start with 1. a poetic opening chant, 2. an informative introduction, 3. a discussion of breathing, 4. Sun Salutation instruction, 5. The complete 90 minute primary series, 6. Standing postures, 7. Seated postures, 8. Finishing postures and 9. contact information.
This DVD will last me several years, as I can only follow him for the first half hour so far. But if you want to see the absolute limits of the human body, watch through to the end of the 90 minutes. He's not a circus freak - it's way beyond that, stuff that will really take a good sense of humor to even approach. But he makes it look effortless.
I also tried Baron Baptist and while Baron is sincere, Richard is the real thing. My body has changed internally, with the proper form from practicing this regularly. I can't express the relief I feel now with a liberated lower spine, neck, legs, abdomen, breath, etc - except to say that everyone should do the work it takes to feel this way. It takes time but then it lasts. 』
(Great way to learn primary series!) 『Richard Freeman is a wonderful teacher -- very clear and articulate. This simple but highly effective DVD is a great tool for learning the primary Ashtanga vinyasa series. If you're not familiar with this type of yoga, just know that even though it's called "primary" it's not for beginners . . . but with Richard's clear instruction solid practitioners of yoga can learn the sequence as taught by Patabbhi Jois.』
(Look No Further Than Richard Freeman) 『For the best Ashtanga teacher in the US, look no further than Richard Freeman. This DVD is a little slow at first, but if you watch carefully, will give you many slight adjustments that will help you in the long run as you advance in this vigorous and rewarding yoga practice. The instruction is clear and direct. There isn't a laugh track, so it's hard to tell at times, because his delivery is DRY, but Richard is also very funny. Highly recommended.』

(Just what I was looking for) 『This is beautiful music, very relaxing and just perfect for a Yoga class. My first Yoga teacher used this music and I loved it. Now that I'm in training to become one, I will use it for the enjoyment of my students. I used it for my presentation evaluation exam, and many of my peers wanted to know what this music was, they loved it as well 』

In stock soon. Order now to get in line. First come, first served. IPhone 3G used's review (Calming&good pace, not boring) 『This is a nice combination of yoga, breathing, etc. The workout itself is short&great way to calm&relax without it being boring at all to either being your day if feeling sluggish, or as part of a warm up before working out, or at night to relax. This workout is not to make you sweat/burn calories, but to calm your jittery energy, to have better body awareness, deeper calmer breathing, better balance&easy toning. The intros in between are a little long&there is overuse of editing to make it look cool, but her style is great. She performs on the beach which is a lovely backdrop. I was only hoping for more content. Take off 1 star if you are looking for more then 21 min of workout content.
Intro - 7 min - long about the history, etc. Abdominal breathing - 4 minutes - with calming arm movements. Stretching&Strengthening - 10 min - with some basic yoga poses&movements with leg&back stretches&strengthening such as table pose. Balancing - 3 min - standing on one leg is yoga style&crane martial arts style, this I loved a lot. Focusing - 4 min - which is visualization&simple arm movements based on Qi Gong movements to increase your energy which I have done in the past that is very important to pull back your energy into your body for later use.』
(Seven Stars for SEVEN CHALLENGES!!) 『This is a great introduction to a gentle yoga style that is perfect for beginners and devotees, alike. The seven challenges are not just an arbitrary construct for the program, but rather a practice for life which is rooted in the Taoist tradition. In addition to the 7 well demonstrated challenges, Ms. Gross does a fine job of outining some important Asian traditions and concepts. Plus, the production values are top notch. All in all, an inspiring yoga DVD.』
(A Nice Introduction to Yoga with Variety) 『I have been doing yoga intermittently for several years, and "Seven Challenges to Change Your Life: An Introduction to Crane Style Yoga " includes some nice variations to "traditional" yoga that you might not get with other courses without being too advanced. I would give it five stars just for the variations that I have not seen elsewhere If you are new to yoga, it is probably a good idea to view a few different yoga videos in order to get a nice perspective of what's available. This would be a good choice to be one of three or so videos to start out with...get one a week for a month. The yoga positions and exercises are easy for the beginner, but can also be somewhat challenging, as you can improve your breathing and balance as you continue to practice the exercises. I felt more "refreshed" than "relaxed", but that might have more to do with the order in which I did the "Challenges". The video includes a brief history of yoga, and the background music and the environmental sounds of the ocean are also nice. 』
(Excellent Way to Start My Day) 『I have practiced Maureen Goss' Crane Style Yoga every morning for the past 2 weeks and have to say that my work days are better spent as a result. The breathing, meditation and balance exercises have helped me feel better, improved my focus and give me a greater sense of being. Thank you Maureen for this great practice.』
(Quiet Alternatives) 『For new practitioners (and advanced as well), Crane Style Yoga is an alternative to the super athletic yoga offered in many gyms and yoga studios across the US these days.
It's not necessary to walk backwards down a wall in order to achieve a strong body and a quiet mind.
Crane Style Yoga works with abdominal breathing, strengthening, stretching, focus and balance, using techniques from yoga, Qi Gong and Kung Fu.
The introduction is a little long, but the practice itself is easy to follow, unintimidating and resulted in a renewed sense of vitality and well being.
Maureen Goss' easy to follow practice is the antidote to "no pain, no gain." And a welcome antidote it is!』 『Are you tired of the same old stretches and routines? Then join fitness expert Maureen Goss as she introduces 7 CHALLENGES TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE, a unique blending of eastern and western techniques that not only tone, stretch and strengthen the body, but hold the key to a healthier lifestyle as well. Goss invites all levels to join her by the sea to learn "challenges" that can, with regular practice, lead to changes in diet, engender healthier relationships and even help to reveal one's true purpose in life as the spirit, mind and body become one with techniques that are thousands of years old and were practiced by monks and martial artists of ancient China.
Goss not only shares what she has learned from some of the best teachers in the world, but incorporates the theories of Classical Chinese Medicine into this unique practice. In 1990, in China, she became one of the first westerners to be certified to teach Soaring Crane Qigong, a form of exercise which, along with her years of dance training and yoga practice, inspired her to create Crane Style Yoga.
Crane Style Yoga is not just exercise. Join Goss as she challenges all fitness levels to gain a renewed sense of spirit and vitality in this 30 minute video that contains a brief explanation of the development of Crane Style Yoga and a twenty minute workout. 7 CHALLENGES TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE is a "must have" for those looking for more than just a physical workout.』

(Great Workout!) 『This is a great workout video for people who enjoy pilates and yoga. At first the video does not seem difficult, but the further you get into it, the more you can feel the workout. I enjoy it! It has helped me slim my tummy and problem areas and it's perfect because it is not long at all. I recommend this video to anyone who wants to start exercising and strengthen their core.』
(IT REALLY WORKS!) 『I've been using this program for years, and I love it! You feel great when it's over.』
(BE CAREFUL) 『I just received this "tape" and am extremely upset with the situation. I did my search under DVD's and clearly only searched for those. Found a used one and they sent me the VHS tape. The price is so cheap for the used one that i would be paying triple what the tape costs to send it back to whomever sold me this from Amazon. Just did the search again and this is exactly the page where I purchased it from. Very Misleading!!!』
(Very good wourkout) 『This is very good workout. I am a home stay mother and this is good workout either if my child is up or sleeping, because the music is calming and Denise's voice is very soft. It does not get boring after watching it so many times.』 『Denise Austin'sMat Workoutpresents two 20-minute workouts emphasizing flexibility, core strength, balance, and relaxation. Workout 1 is Pilates-based, focusing on the core muscles of the abdominals and back. Pilates-based workouts are heavily founded on technique and awareness, so Austin takes time to explain and demonstrate neutral pelvis, shoulder stability, breathing technique, and the muscles you'll be working. Then she takes you through a challenging Pilates-based workout focusing on trunk stability, which translates to a killer ab workout, offering modifications for beginners.
Workout 2 includes both Pilates-based exercises and yoga postures, starting with the Sun Salutation and progressing to a variety of yoga poses that emphasize balance and flexibility and Pilates-based exercises that focus on core stability and strength.
This is a softer Denise--quiet voice, subdued pace, tranquil feeling--a nice change from the frenetic pace and unrelenting chatter of many of Austin's videos. You'll be surprised by how demanding this workout is, because of the core stability and balance challenges.--Joan Price』

With my last pregnancy I used Denise Austin and I was really unimpressed; however, this one was pretty decent. She does go from one move to the next somewhat fast and it doesn't give you much time to get your props ready. Once you've gone through the DVD once though you'll be prepared for the next time. The production value isn't very good either. It was definitely just shot in her home, but you still get a really good workout. I would probably give it one more star if it had other women in different stages of their pregnancy. This only has Denise herself doing the entire workout. I would recommend it though in addition to some brisk walking a few times a week.』
(Love This Workout!) 『I'm in my fifth month and bought 3 dvds - this one, Perfect Pregnancy Workout Vol. 1, and Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rea. I really love Erin's personality - she's upbeat, easy to follow, but not cheesy like many instructors. And, it's a really good workout that is challenging and fun. I definitely recommend it!』
(Great workout, easy to adapt, and no props needed) 『I really loved this DVD. I am now 28 weeks and I am still doing this workout, although I modified some of the exercises a bit. It is easy to adapt to your pace, fitness level, and stage of pregnancy, and the exercises do not require props like balls, weights, rubber bands etc., which some of the other dvds require. It is also easy to remember, and I have done some of the exercises in the swimming pool :) Overall I really enjoy it and I think Erin is a great instructor. I have both the Gabrielle Reece workout (which I like) and the Shiva Rea yoga, but this one is the DVD I use and like the most.』
(Good prenatal workout) 『This is a workout for folks who have been exercising all along and are looking for a prenatal workout that isn't too slow or easy. If you are out of shape or new to exercise try something like Crunch Yoga Mama or walk. This workout makes me feel really good when I'm done. To be honest, I don't really enjoy this workout; I don't get lost in the exercises like I do with other workouts. I really like Kyra Landgolf's Total Body Tone. There's a 7 mo pregnant exerciser in the video who modifies the workout for pregnancy. This is the workout I'd recommend if you were an exerciser before and want to continue. But, back to this workout. Expect lots of squats, some upper body work through modified pushups, some tricep dips, a few ballet moves, pilates floorwork and stretches. Your heartrate will go up, you will sweat and you will feel really good when you are done. I haven't had the same aches and pains that I had with my first pregnancy. I think the video is worth a try, maybe you'll connect with it more than I have.』
(Great Prenatal Workout!) 『I love this workout video. I did not do yoga or pilates workouts before, I liked run or play basketball and volleyball to get my exercise. But once I found out I was pregnant, I needed a new exercise to stay healthy. I found this and loved it! She's talks about what you should and shouldn't do when and before working out, which was great being pregnant for the first time. Also, has a workout with a partner which made my husband feel like he was more involved in the pregnancy. The main exercise has a warm-up, workout and a cool down that lasts about 40 minutes and another 20 minutes with a partner. I have recommended this to my sisters and friends that are pregnant.』 『"Erin's a pro at fitness, she's a pro at pregnancy, and she fuses these together for two perfect prenatal workouts. Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Fit for kids) 『These DVDs are absolutely fantastic. My children, boy (6) and girl (5), get up in the morning and put the DVD in and do yoga on their own. They've proudly written their names on their newly acquired yoga mats and talk about how strong they'll be in a few months by doing their yoga regularly. My wife was sceptical that it will be a waste of money, but they've proven her dead- wrong.』
(Great gift for kids 5 and 3, boys and girls alike!) 『Bought this DVD after my kids ages 5 and 3 loved the first Yoga Kids DVD. I bought them kid yoga mats too which they love. They have been doing these for months and now ask to do 2 videos a night before bed. It's great fun to watch them and know it's a really good thing. This would be a great gift for a toddler with a kids yoga mat. A great way to direct lots of energy!』
(too much eastern philosophy included) 『The exercises in this video were pretty good, but I was not expecting all of the eastern buddhist mumbo jumbo philosophy that the teacher directed at the children. I had to turn it off because I did not want my 4 year old son hearing or repeating phrases like "i am you and you are me", or "i am the light in you and you are the light in me", and "om" and "namaste", and "be the flower". Not what I was expecting, and very disappointing. I was hoping that a yoga video for kids would be able to leave all of that out, and that it would be a nice alternative to a lot of the cheesy aerobic videos out there. So, I'm still searching because my son really wants his own exercise video.』
(Fun yoga for kids) 『I bought this for my two year old son so we'd have something to do on the below zero days of winter. He is obsessed with the Alphabet Song, so I thought he'd like this DVD. It runs about 30 minutes, and there are about six children and an instructor featured in the video. It goes through the alphabet and demonstrates poses (i.e. "A" is for alligator and you lie on your stomach and wiggle like an alligator while stretching your arms in front of you and clapping your hands together like an alligator opening and closing its mouth). My son is a little young to follow the poses, but he enjoys watching the kids and hearing the music/songs they sing. He also laughs at me while I do the poses and encourage him to do the same. The poses are pretty basic, but they feel good, and there are some helpful explanations for the poses. For instance, the instructor suggests trying the "V" for volcano pose to deal with anger/frustration. I can see my son enjoying this when he's a little older, probably within a few months.』
(Great DVD for Kids) 『This is a great DVD. I bought it for my daughter when she was 4 and I wish I had found it sooner. She loved it til she was almost 7. This is calm and fun and not annoying. Each letter has a pose and is done by kids. I love the volcano, a healthy way to release if you feel angry. I am in my early 50's and I like to challenge myself while staying safe. I bought this unit a little over a year ago and am still using it. This stand is relatively small, sturdy and well padded. I was amazed how the headstand, a yoga pose that was relatively difficult and challenging, for me, was made so much easier with this prop. For me, the need for a mirror was crucial in the beginning to verify true verticality and not my perception of it. It takes me about three minutes to set it up and the same to fold and put away. The padding is great for holding the pose in comfort. I bought my stand for $50 with free shipping from this website and thought it was a good deal until I read Eduardo Nietzsche's review indicating an even cheaper one. More importantly, instead of adding my review right away, I decided to try the headstand before going to bed. Although, I have no trouble falling or staying asleep, I benefited from this suggestion and am grateful for it. Perhaps the muscles tensing to hold the pose is enough to induce consequent relaxation leading to an even faster and deeper sleep. In conclusion, it you are going to make this stand part of your regular exercise program, it is a good item and I hope that you will enjoy it!
』
(Fun and easy to use) 『I love this product. I have always been afraid to try too many inversions but this product allows me to have the benefit of the inverted poses and still feel very safe. I am also a Yoga teacher and my students are benefiting from this as well. My Yoga room is mostly mirrored so we don't have much wall space to practice inversions. With this, we don't need it. 』
(FAAAAAAA-BULOUS!) 『This was one of the best personal well-being investments I've ever made. I try to use it every night just before bed, and it really does help me sleep like a baby. Have had chronic neck and shoulder/trapezius stiffness and tightness for years, which have pretty much subsided ever since I started using this nifty little device.
Love that it comes fully assembled, you just take it out of the box and unfold it...ta da! Nice solid build quality---I guess the manufacturer/distributor didn't want anyone to sue them, lol.
Am recommending this for all my friends and family. Unless you're 5 or 10 years old, doing a normal headstand, even with a wall supporting you, is much much harder. I was able to progress from 30 seconds at a time to 5 minutes at a time within a week (use a cooking countdown timer), and hope to work up to the maximum recommended inversion time of 12 minutes within the end of the month.
