(Hot but very little warmth or romance) I'm not a reviewer that will recap the story for you.....I know the kind of books I like and this one is HOT! I am not quite sure how this book got anything but 5 star reviews. Of all the books I own of this genre, Nicholas is by far my favorite and is now a very well worn book! I loved it so much I pre-ordered the second of the series, Raine. Just finished Raine and was less pleased. However, my love for the first of the Lords of Satyr trilogy has me awaiting the arrival of the final book, Lyon. Elizabeth Amber has blazed new trails in the paranormal/erotic genre with her Lords of Satyr series. Nicholas and Jane are two compelling characters who you'll grow to love. The chemistry sizzles and the sex is steamy. Set in Tuscany at the entrance to Elseworld, the three Satyr brothers must keep peace in Feydom. Ms. Amber's writing is tight, the pacing will keep you from putting the book down and if you're like me, you've already pre-ordered the next two books! If you are desperate to read something different from this genre, check out Elizabeth Amber. This erotica novel is an example of the perfect storm: great plot, excellent writing, and hot sex!!! I love erotica romance with great writing. The characters were all so well developed, especially the aunt. I bet it was fun writing a character like her. I am adding Elizabeth Amber to my list of favs. Right up there with Sylvia Day and Lisa Valdez. I've read books that were so hot they scorched your eyeballs, and then there are others where you get an engagement after two kisses, but one thing they usually have in common is warmth. Not with Nicholas so bring your ski parka and space heater. He's SO cold that I practically got frostbite, and he's pretty much that way through most of the book. He took his father's words to heart when he said that you just do it with your wife, but you have lusty sex with other women. So his wife's nightly duty is to just submit, and Mr. Experience routinely does the deed and leaves until she asks for more involvement after she's found out he's already sleeping with other women. I also sense a lot of coldness from the brothers, but it's hard to tell as the relationships have very little depth besides being told how much they love and support each other. Maybe things will warm up as the story continues with the next two books, and I sure hope that the readers get more about the women and their powers. It wasn't really addressed in Nicholas, and I wanted something more than "Satyrs and Their Sex Lives." A touch more romance, okay, a lot more actual romance, would have tempered the constant onslaught of who's doing what with whom, and I would have also liked to be able to LIKE the characters. No one was really all that sympathetic, and maybe that too will change in the next two books. I'll never know as my involvement with the trilogy ends with this book. I LOVED it and can honestly say after reading all of the others that it is my favorite! I found the characters of Emily and Kell to be a perfect match. The characters were in depth (as are all of the characters in the Seal's series) and the sparks flew anytime they were together in the same room. I just recently discovered Lora's books and have read as many as I can get my hands on! I've stuck mainly with the Tempting Seals series and the Nauti boy series. Kudo's for wonderful characters with depth and chemistry. Did not like it, did not finish it and will not buy anymore of her books. Would not have used any stars but would not let me finish without clicking on one. This is the second book in the series and It's a good read. A must have. Emily Stanton is no one's lady. The daughter of a US senator, Emily paid the price for her father's political ambitions once--and she has the nightmares to prove it. Determined to protect herself from then on, Emily allows her father to provide her with bodyguards while taking covert fighting and shooting lessons. It's one great ride for the reader watching it happen. Hidden Agendas is the third book in Lora Leigh's Tempting SEALS series and I think that so far it's my favorite. When you pick up a Lora Leigh novel, you know you're getting erotica, but she does it with such flair and pizazz that it isn't all sex no story, but a great story that just happens to be sexy. Furthermore, these heroes are alpha males to the extreme and just make a woman want to be protected like only these strong men can provide. If you like your heroes bold, brash, and overprotective, the Tempting SEALS series is for you. This book was a great read. If you like other Lora Leigh books you'll love this one. The cover is cool, the reviews were good. The content is not too bad, but pretty low-brow and crude really. Some of the stories are reasonably charming, some of them are just silly. Only one induced any feelings of arousal in me. It may be that the problem with the compilation is that the perspective is mostly that of the Dom - I would possibly prefer something from the submissive perspective. It may also be that I do not really like the genre - I have never been in to contemporary erotic fiction and this book feels like it is very much part of that genre. I'm sure many people would like this book - especially male Doms who enjoy erotic fiction. For myself though, I was not impressed, though at times I was mildly amused. He's on Top is a well-crafted anthology with different shades of dominance wrapped in expertly developed stories . . . I'm not one to re-read most erotic short stories, but I'm not sure how many times I've read 'Yes' from this book. If you're even slightly curious how it feels when He's on Top, this collection belongs in your cart. I'm a top so naturally I'd be into stories like this. However, they were groupings of short stories from both perspectives (Dom/sub). I expected some strong well written stories. The Dom ones were ok, adequate, the sub ones actually seemed a little better written but overall I don't think I'd recommend it unless you are just looking for some light erotic reading. This book was a good collection of erotica. If you're into erotic stories about BDSM, then this would interest you. It's one of the better collections that I've read and I own a few. :=) I just finished this book and found it magnificent. It really exceeded my expectations with its stories encompassing tremendous variety, thoughtfulness, honesty, and complexity. My personal favorites included Gwen Masters's beautifully hot "Confession" and Shanna Germain's incredible "The Sun Is an Ordinary Star" as well as Donna George Storey's "Yes." All of the stories, whether they personally did it for me or not, impressed me with their not at all superficial (or superficially stereotypical) account of and insight into the Dom/sub relationship; in this way, besides being hot and erotic, I found it also simply interesting to read! In her introduction editor Rachel Kramer Bussel states that she aimed with _He's on Top_ to go "into a place where the interaction between top and bottom could be treated with all the reverence and complexity it deserved." I can hardly imagine how she could have more exquisitely done so. He's on Toppays homage to those irresistible men who control their partners with a glance, a tickling whip, or a measured smack on the bottom. After reading this book I went out and bought Decadent. I can't wait for other books to come out involving other characters that were introduced in these two books. I read Decadent first and where people said they liked Wicked Ties much better, I have to say the opposite. It's more because of personal reasoning, because I'm not really turned on by D/s. (Maybe cause I'm also dominant by nature? lol)It's not a bad read by any means, but not one that I would read again. Hot! Hot! Hot! Never thought I'd like D&S, however...give me Jack and I most definitely would give in...be submissive. LOL This was hot, steamy, addictive stuff from the word go. The story was solid and so were the hugely powerful alpha males, I'd love to be able to keep one in my closet for Saturday nights. The characters are so great; they are realistic, lovable and just lovable, no matter if it is the hero and the heroine or the secondary characters. WICKED TIES is a very emotional book with characters to believable that readers can easily follow their inner struggles and understand the conflicts they have to overcome. In the opinion of the reader, WICKED TIES is a master of BDSM erotic romance because the book perfectly shows the trust, which is so important in a BDSM relationship. WICKED TIES is a wickedly hot book with great love scenes and not to forget a very hot Ménage scene. This reviewer can highly recommend this book to everyone who loves hot and sensual stories. My only comment would be how similar all the relationships were to the first book and all the plot points. It felt as though I had already read it and fortunately I enjoyed the first so the second may have been predictable but still enjoyable for what it is. It seemed like there was a set up for more books about same in the future? Johnathon and Philip are childhood friends and war vets. They search and find the woman they can both love in Maggie.While she marries Philip, it has been planned for them to be a true menage with Johnathon, and the fun begins when he moves in with them. I like the story it is hot and goes through the historical points to catch you. The sex is great, and the scenes where the guys discover how hot sex together can get, WOW.... This is the second of the Brothers in Arms series. Love Under Siege is very similar to The Courage to Love. The sex scenes in this book though similar are very erotic and show a new dimension to Menage a trois relationships. If you like your books with a bit of the forbidden I recommend Love Under Siege. Maggie loves her husband, Phillip, and adores his best friend, Jonathan. Longing to satisfy her husband, Maggie suppresses her inhibitions and tries to fulfill Phillips many sexual fantasies. Happy endings are great! I can't believe the book was that good. The story line at so many twist in. I could not put the book down. When the end it blew my mind away to find out what happened at the end. I loved this book so much that I have ordered the first two books of this series. Also will order the fourth of the August Men series when it is out. It held my attention from the first page to the last and makes you wish for more. This book was fast paced and full of action that makes you stay up late at night just to finish. Heather was strong yet very soft. I loved how she got tired of his game of his satisfation and leaving her high and dry and then followed him to the barn to take what she needed. So looking forward to books 1 and 2 for the details of the start of this series. Somehow I read book 2 (Sarah's Seduction) first and LOVED it. Then I read Marley's choice which I didn't enjoy as much just because it seemed to hold out and hold out and then boom jumped into it which made it unbelievable. In Heather's Gift, I'm not sure Heather is developed as a character at all - but she went from Virgin to holding a gun to Sam's head and "raping" him? I mean, I'm all for changing things up, but when you start laughing at the sex scenes, I think your erotica has taken a wrong turn ... I really wanted to know the identity of the stalker and more about how the three brothers got this way. These guys are just too twisted. I'm sorry that my curiosity got the best of me and kept me buying these books because I wouldn't consider this a "love" story.
